The Winnipeg 1913 Trivia Hunt is officially off to a roaring start with over a 1000 participants pre-registered to take part in the historic trivia game kicking-off Monday, February 11, 2013. The Fort Garry Hotel, Spa and Conference Centre has teamed-up with Slixer Entertainment to create this trivia game in celebration of the centennial anniversary of Winnipeg’s most iconic hotel. Register and join in the fun as we take you on a 10-month trivia journey through Winnipeg’s storied past dating back to 1913. Oh, and did we mention there will be prizes?
Players will be challenged with a series of online quizzes. Monthly trivia questions will be emailed to registrants every eleventh day of each month starting February 11th, 2013 with the grand finale in December 2013. Top finishers will be entered into a monthly draw for incredible prizes including tickets to the 2014 Juno Awards in Winnipeg, Taylor Swift concert tickets, “I Have All Day” packages at Ten Spa, Pajama Parties, Sunday brunch parties at the Fort Garry Hotel and much, much more. February’s prize is a Spa + Yoga Overnight Package for four. All top finishers will be invited to the Grand Finale celebration event at the Fort Garry in December 2013 for a chance at winning the grand prize, one Ten Spa service each week for a year, valued at $6,500.
Jim Blanchard, author of Winnipeg 1912 and Winnipeg’s Great War, will be writing the Winnipeg 1913 Trivia Hunt questions and he promises to make them fun and “not too hard” to answer. There will be ten questions a month and each month will have a special theme, such as “Famous Residents of the Fort Garry”, “Ghosts and Spiritualists” and “Booze and Prohibition”. So start boning up on the history of our city and our grandest hotel.
